Between 2015 and 2019, a storm of brilliance and madness collided in the mind of a young visionary. He imagined a world without the grinding weight of mental illness, food insecurity, or transportation barriers—a world where a spiritual crisis response team could be deployed at a moment’s notice, not by a phone call, but by a cry from the soul.

This was the genesis of C3—Conflict Control Center—conceived not in a boardroom, but in a mind battling schizophrenia, misophonia, and tormenting voices that twisted reality into a daily battlefield. He believed he was being trafficked. He believed he was being watched. He thought he had died multiple times, only to wake up in his own bed, unsure if he was still alive. Nothing happened… or did it?

Heroic spirits—imagined or divine—encouraged him to transcend the pain. In his darkest hours, while clinging to threads of sanity, he buried himself in study and research: Information Assurance, Terrorism Awareness Level 1, military C2 (Command and Control) structures. He poured over conspiracies and protective doctrines, anything that might keep him grounded. He applied to the Department of Labor to be a data scientist. He wanted to matter. He wanted to survive.

And somehow—he did.

By January 2024, he no longer chased illusions. He looked life in the eyes and chose to respond with purpose. He officially launched Conflict Control Center, a nonprofit born from years of internal warfare and impossible hope. With under $2,000 in donations and a shoestring budget, C3 helped 41 underprivileged individuals through emotional crises, life stressors, and deep personal conflicts.

The testimonials rolled in—25 in total—each one praising the Executive Director, Founder, and CEO for his drive, empathy, and vision. He had gathered a small team of volunteer professionals: a social worker, a mental health therapist, two trauma therapists. From January to June 2024, they worked not for profit, but for people.

But passion has its price.

By the summer, the founder—Darien Dey Mason—was burned out. The fire that kept him going began to consume him. Endless Zoom meetings, grant proposals, program designs, board updates, social media campaigns—it was too much for one man, especially one still healing from his own invisible wounds.

Yet in the ashes of burnout, something new emerged.

By June 2025, Darien had become a certified professional life coach and transformed C3 into a for-profit enterprise, still rooted in service, now focused on sustainability. Under the umbrella of Deylight Coaching Inc., a C3 subsidiary, he now coaches 19 clients—each one benefiting from his hard-earned wisdom, deep compassion, and relentless belief in human growth.

Darien’s story is not one of perfection, but perseverance.

It's about confronting demons—internal and systemic—and daring to build a sanctuary out of chaos. C3 is no longer just an idea born in the crucible of madness. It is a living, breathing force for healing, a testament to what happens when pain meets purpose, and when one man's descent into darkness becomes the blueprint for others to find the light.

And maybe, just maybe, a higher power watched the whole time…
